King’s Inn Street
Year = 2021-2022
Team = Micheal Crawford
Type = Student Project
Role = Design & visualisation
Status = Completed
This project explores the re-use of the chocolate factory on Kings inns street. It will be re-used to accommodate a multi-disciplinary collaborative and hybrid working space in a post covid working world. It mainly focused on designers, but also included a brewery. The hope was to give a healthy and happy workspace that encourages collaboration among disciplines. The most important aspect of this project was researching designers and finding out their needs. I interviewed graphic designers, product designers, brewers and more to get a true understanding of the needs of each.

Competition Runner Up
I was runner up in a design competition, the brief was to design something unique with the tRACK shelving system. I designed an automated reception desk with built in screens for navigation and information on the building, storage boxes for deliveries and a lower screen for wheelchair users to make it part M compliant. The shelves at the top also allow for an opportunity for the resident artists and designers in the building to showcase their work. I used the design in my chocolate factory project.

Below is the shelving system I designed, and below that is the system in context.
